Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues. My Roamio and Roamio Pro and Tivo Minis are all working fine with Xfinity over MoCA. I have the red Motorola cable card.
Just curious, did you try troubleshooting before returning your cable card?
Yesterday morning we got up to a V58 code instead of our channels. After an hour on the phone with Spectrum, it was determined that my cablecard failed, they said I had it since 2011.

Anyway, they made an appointment for Wednesday and are bringing me a new one that they will lnsall! I think Spectrums parent company is Comcast and not Charter. Maybe that's the difference. They said that because cablecards are very low in inventory they would not Mail it to me and must be installed by them and collect the old one.

Spectrum is the consumer brand name of services sold by Charter Communications. Spectrum has no connection to Comcast whatsoever.

Highly unlikely your card ”failed”. More likely is something got disconnected in their software to provision it with your account. Even with a new card you’ll need some one to provision it properly. If they don’t know how they’ll probably just lie and tell you the replacement has “failed” too.

Another possibility is your market has gone high split and you’ll require a high split converter to replace your tuning adapter.

But either way, since this is all about Spectrum, it really doesn’t belong in a Comcast thread.

Thanks, I get them mixed up "Charter...Comcast", maybe one should start with a "K".

Well, if this is correct I guess I'll let my one Tivo run and periodically check. My other 5 work fine (for now).

My Comcast experience:
...

Is there anyway to check if my other cards have (or even needed) the firmware update? I say that PowerKey (series 800?) cards were at issue but I didn't see much more than that or an firmware numbers.

These are the serial numbers of my cards:
Not working:
PKCQJZ***

Working:
PKCQJZ*** (last 2 num different)
PKGVQF***
PKGTMK***
PKKXKB***
PKQNJD***

If the one with almost the same number has the firmware update, would it be possible to swap the cards in the devices and force an update? ...
Just an update to my post. My other card beginning with PKCQ stopped working yesterday. Same issue. Could be a matter of time before all my cards fail.

Right now I have a Roamio and an Edge to serve those two outlets and my 5 minis. The catch is that with a Bolt and an Edge being out of commission due to no cable card I have two outlets without service. For now, those two have fire streaming so I can use the xfinity app but that is less than optimal.

I'm planning to stop at the xfinity store today on the off chance that they have a couple cable cards. I'm then going to stop at the Verizon store and see if I can somehow manage to switch to fios and get cable cards. In the long run, I guess it's time to look into other TV options.

Don’t go to stores. No one there will know about cable cards.

Call and get transferred to a dedicated cable and advanced support team.

Comcast will not issue new cablecards to existing customers and Verizon is the same I believe. I can not remember if fios even supports existing customers cablecards anymore.

Xfinity store will just say no cablecard support please buy are stream box. Regular customer service or regular tech support or online suppprt will do the same.

Your best option for support is to call Comcast customer service and ask them to transfer you to advanced support and if they are unavailable which is usually the case ask customer service to open an engineering ticket and ask them to have advanced support call you asap. This most likely will not work however it’s the best chance you have at maybe catching a break.

Best of luck.

Verizon Fios still supports all current cablecards and there is no definitive policy to cease supplying cards to new customers.

Many (most? all?) of new Fios customers being denied cards is because Fios does not offer QAM television service in many markets and/or no longer installs QAM-capable ONT’s.

Comcast OTOH can fully 100% give out new cards if they wanted to. They just have decided not to.

Well, after having the TiVo off overnight, I did a unplug/plugin and everything is now working!
Engineers continue to work so stay patient was the last update provided about the outage by a few people in the thread. Like a few members said just stay patient & do not surrender your cable card.

Glad it is up & running.

I finished my attempts today to acquire cable cards from xfinity or verizon with no luck. I had to drop off some old dtas at xfinity so I went to the store. As expected, they had none at the store. I was offered a box for my cable card but declined. I'm leaving my bolt and edge connected to a cable and ethernet feed in a less used room on the off chance they manage to "fix" the issue.

I managed to talk to an upper level sales rep (whatever that means) at Verizon. Actually got a very good offer. But I was assured they have followed the path of spectrum and comcast and are no longer offering cable cards to any new customers, so my plan will come without cablecards.

For now I am switching to Fios for internet, tv, and home phone. With comcast I will drop the internet and phone from my plan and stay with cable until the cards die. I can still drop the tv from the verizon plan but want to try it out first. For my plan, the price of Fios is beating Xfinity by $85 a month. I still have to see what TV only on Xfinity costs to see where I'm at overall.

If you subscribe to the Popular TV channel tier, which is far and away the most "popular" option--and not including such add-on variables as equipment rental and premium channels--, you can figure on something in the neighborhood of $110 to $120 p.m. net of all taxes and fees beginning in January with the upcoming price increases.

I'm confused. TiVo "supports" cards, but they don't work? Seems a bit like an oxymoron.

His TiVo no longer works because of an action by his cable provider, Comcast. So it seems to me he has been cut off.

Although I have no confirmation of this, I've read in this forum (but not anywhere else) that Comcast is working on a fix, that may take up to two weeks. It's been over two weeks. @cwoody222 at what point are we allowed to change our language from "Comcast supports cablecards there is a technical error" to "Comcast bricked our cablecards"? Two weeks? Three weeks? Never?
I have xfinity/Comcast in Mississippi. Everything is working fine.

This topic has been beat to death. Misinformation and disinformation being spread. Some of you should be working for the cable news media. The best plan is to assume your CableCard will, at some point in the future (near or far, dunno - guessing even the cable techs dunno) become obsolete. The end of their antiquated technology is inevitable. Do your research now and have a Plan B ready when, not if, but when your cc-dependent TiVo device becomes nothing but a way to view previously stored video files.
