I want to add a mini to my house. After googling a little research I wanted to ask my question here. I have one Tivo Bolt Vox in my living room that I want to extend to my bedroom. My Bolt is OTA connected via ethernet. Should i get a Mini or a Mini Vox? I don't have an option to use ethernet for the mini. Will wireless work? I saw one article that you need to initially hook up the mini with ethernet to get it working then to switch to wireless once it's set up?

What’s the price differential? A few bucks? Why wouldn’t you get the Lux which is newer and faster?

You need a dongle accessory to support wireless and it must be set up with Ethernet (or Moca).

I'm late to this thread. I've mentioned this before, if one is on and wants to stay on TE3, get the vox rather than the Lux. The remote won't work in RF on a Lux that is on TE3. A Vox will.

Where are you sourcing a TiVo Mini Lux? I had a long talk with Executive Support last week when I asked for consideration since my 8 year old Mini is stuck on the boot up screen. The rep basically told
Me they were sold out, and they had zero info on future devices. I take that as they are finally exiting the hardware business.

now my choice is to buy a Mini refurb from Weak Knees or look at other non-TiVo options. I’m on Comcast with a CableCard with a TiVo Bolt, so I’m running on borrowed time. Once Comcast ends CableCard support I’m going antenna and data only.
