Tivo HD Remote and Sony STR-DG820 Receiver. HDMI Question as well.

Does anyone have a working remote code for the Tivo remote to use this receiver? None of the Sony codes seem to work with this.

Also, when I hook my Tivo HD up via HDMI, when I select the input, it takes about 5 seconds to finally display. None of my other HDMI devices do this, as soon as I select that HDMI input, they are instantly on, but when I switch back to the Tivo HD, it sits with "No input" on the screen for five seconds before it actually shows up..

Not sure if its something I'm doing or what. I'm tempted to send the receiver back and go back to component for everything. Nothing but hassles trying to get everything onto HDMI.

There is no code for the factory default codeset (AV2) sony receivers have been using for 6 years. The only codes are for sony receivers using the AV1 codeset. You maybe able to switch the codeset your sony responds to, from AV2 to AV1. see either your manual or this thread:

I'm having the same problem. Looks like there is no way to switch the STR-DG820 into AV1 mode. I tried the method that I hear works on the STR-DG920 (holding down the 2ch button on power up) and it doesn't do a thing on the STR-DG820. I also called Sony and the guy said there is no way to switch it. I guess I can just stick with my Harmony 880 remote, but this is a real shame as the TiVo remote feels better. It's lame that TiVo haven't updated their remote code database years ago to support the Sony AV2 codeset.

Oh never mind. I forgot that the Series 3 GLO remote is a learning remote. Doh! All I had to do was teach it the volume up/down/mute commands from the Sony remote. No need to switch the STR-DG820 to AV1 at all in my case.
See this page for how to teach your GLO remote from another remote.
