Prepaid / MSD with existing account

Ok... I think that I understand this... but will need some additional education for this slow brain to finally get it.

I have an account that already has 4 TiVos associated with it. Obviously, it is already MSD-active.

I am looking to get a Series 2 DT directly from TiVo.com and purchase a 1-year prepaid plan (which also serves as a commitment). I understand that this comes already activated.

I understand that, after the 1-year commitment is up, that I can then associate this with my acount and therefore be eligible for the MSD pricing.

My question then is when does this box get associated with my account? Is it at signup... or when the initial year is up? In other words, will I be able to associate my box to my existing account from the start ... or will I need a separate account and then move it over when the year is done?

If you use the same email address as your existing account during checkout, it will show up with the other units on your existing account.
I don't remember the exact wording, but there is a statement below the email address field that says something like 'this email will be used for your acct'.

It will immediately be associated with your account, assuming you used the same sign-up information. Since you did 1-year prepay, it will not immediately go to MSD after one year. If you do nothing, it will go month-to-month at the 19.95 rate. Before the year is up, call Tivo customer service and sign up for a one year commitment of monthly payments. Since you already have four Tivo's your monthly rate will be 6.95 instead of the normal 12.95, but you will be in contract for another year.
