I enjoyed it. I thought they handled the transition pretty respectfully. I'm wondering how they are going to keep the psychiatrist relevant... And it was good to see Maggie Lawson in a more serious role

 

I think Cole and his CIA issues will keep her pretty busy.

 

A step down from last season, but I'll give it a few more episodes.

 

I didn't want to like it, but oddly enough I enjoyed it. Sucks that they KILLED off a beloved character from the movies and first two seasons of the show, but they handled it well and quickly. Maybe in a couple seasons they'll have him back as a guest and show that he faked his own death haha.

Same here. I was actually sure that the episode would end with me deleting my SP, but I will stick around a bit to see how it all comes together. Was the boat a thing from last season or just the movies?

 

IIRC, the boat wasn't in the prior seasons.

 

I thought Stifler did a good job taking the dead guy's place. I'll continue watching.

In the movie, Riggs and Murtaugh spent a lot of time bonding in the boat.

 

I know, but the question asked was " Was the boat a thing from last season or just the movies" I don't recall seeing the boat on the tv show.

 

I scanned a little thru the season 2 finale on Hulu and didn't see any boat during scenes at Murtaugh's house

I wonder if they shot all of the scenes with Crawford (Riggs) before he knew he was fired.

 

I know I said I wouldn't watch the new season but then I thought that wasn't fair, so I gave the first episode a try.

Now, I really am out Not interesting to me at all.

I didn't see any new scenes with him, just the flashbacks to last season...?

 

IIRC, the only scene from the present was him being wheeled into the hospital, but you never saw his face.

Episode wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be, I think I'm sticking with it for a while.

 

It was a good transition, and I have hope for it.

However, I was NOT happy to see Maggie Lawson. Don't want her more in the show at all!

I started watching the first episode with the new guy but I'm not sure if I was tired or I just couldn't get into it. I didn't get rid of it yet but we'll see if I go back to it.

 

I missed the previous seasons, and didn't even know Riggs was killed. I just happened to see the last 2 eps. Doesn't suck, but it sounds like its future is iffy.

I didn’t realize has was that age. I guess if he needs to retire, he should. But, I wonder if he might have known this earlier and made the decision then, they could have brought in a replacement.

 

He didn't say he's retiring, he said he's that he's "done" with the series.

 

That's true. But, any other series he gets into would have similar work conditions.

Unless, he scores a comedy vehicle shot in a studio. That would be less stress and physical work that an action series.

 

He may not be retiring but he mentioned his age and diabetes. It is logical to conclude that he felt that his work situation is not good for his health.

Why would that make him “a whiny b-“? IMO, doing work that is detrimental to good health is unwise.

His family might be encouraging him to take it easy. Do you know differently?

 

A lot of people will be out of work.

 

Reboot?

 

That might be difficult after half a season.

Of course, that depends on how big a change they would want to make.
