FWIW, ads in Freevee can easily be skipped. I am an Amazon Prime member. I have, with frustration, noticed that most of what I would want to watch on Prime is either something I have to buy/rent from Amazon (on top of my annual Prime fee) or it is on Freevee, which is no cost but largely unwatchable due to the deluge of ads.

On my desktop, specifically Chrome, I added a browser extension called "Freevee Skipper". When there's something on Freevee I want to watch, I make sure I'm signed into Prime, then I just surf to Freevee.com in a new tab and it takes me straight back to Prime, where I launch the Freevee movie. This extension works AMAZINGLY well - skips all the ads seamlessly and on at least some shows, it skips the opening theme song/credits. Gonna hook up my laptop to my 108" big screen and project Freevee movies there too.
Which is all fine and good unless you want to watch it through any existing smart TV, or streaming device. Not to metion wanting to "drive" using a computer rather than your TV's remote. I guess if I was frustrated enough with ads, I could do as you are, and hook up my computer to my TV, but not sure if it's really worth it at this point. I'm not sure then if "easily skipped" is correct, because most people aren't going to go through those hoops to skip them.

There's no way I'm so put off by a few ads that I'm going to watch content through a PC browser! :ROFLMAO:

I don't know if other players are like this. On Apple stuff, it only tells you something is available on Amazon. You have to click it to see if the FreeVee pre-roll thing comes up, or if it goes into the Amazon player. If FreeVee, I'm outta there. I've got so much content available, I will just skip most things, versus watching ads. Especially if I see something like "ad 1 of 7".

I rarely watch FreeVee, right now only Bosch-Legacy and Leverage-Redemption. I have noticed that if I watch FreeVee on my Firestick, I consistently see only 4-5 minutes of total commercials an episode. When I watched the same episode on my Roku, I would get 8-9 minutes of total commercials. Granted a very small sample size, but it doesn't surprise me.

It seems the time of day affects number and length of commercials
