Brilliant Minds (originally titled Dr. Wolf) is an upcoming American medical drama television series inspired by the Oliver Sacks books The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars. It is scheduled to premiere on September 23, 2024, on NBC.

It was a decent pilot, lot to cover. Enjoyable as it stands, earned a second episode. Too many intertwining situations. His dad has (had?) a neurological issue, but not the same as his. He has face blindness. I'm not sure how he and the lady who hired him know each other. Former students together? Not lovers. And then you knew by the end the Chief Medical Officer was going to be his mom. Just what we needed. 🙄

Some of it made no sense. He has a car and a motorcycle, and uses the mc to take the old guy to the wedding (great scene, BTW). Any surgeon would have more concern for a patient he had just operated on than this guy; that was written for conflict only. And why did the patient move right after her surgery?

Having said all this, the casting is excellent. I like everyone in their roles, esp the interns. Quinto is perfect for the role.

I'm not a fan of medical dramas in general, but I'll give this at least one more.

I haven't watched it yet. My anticipation level is somewhere around comatose.

I watched it. I'm out. Just not for me. Nothing unique or must-see about it. And it's not entertaining enough to watch without a reason.
