Yet another multi-service discount question

Ok, I've been searching around, but couldn't really find any definitive answers.

I currently own 2 S2 units that I've had for a few years. Paying $12.95 and $6.95, no commitments or anything of the like.

I'm considering an HD unit now, and popped the stuff into the TiVo site to see that the multi service discount for 1 year commit is $10.95.

Question 1. Does that mean I'd be paying $12.95, $10.95 and $6.95, or 10.95, 6.95, and 6.95, or 10.95, 10.95, and 6.95, or d) the cheetah?

Question 2. And this one I think I know already. Does MSD not apply to prepaid plans? I saw in on the page that the 1 year prepaid would be more than one year at $10.95.

On question 2, correct, there is no MSD for the prepaid plans.

I'm not entirely sure on question 1, so I'll leave that for others.
If I were you I would but the new tivo from amazon, BB or CC and then you can just go into your tivo.com account and change the service number and not affect youappilling... this is only applies if you are not adding another box to the account but replacng a current one
the 12.95 will def stay (need one NOT on MSD)

so it will either be 12.95, 10.95, 6.95 or 12.95, 2 10.95's but I highly doubt the 2nd one.

Prob the 3 different prices.

Adding, not replacing in this case. But I will most likely be buying from either Amazon or a brick and mortar place, depending on when I pull the trigger and who has the best deal at the time.
So, if I have one S2 box in the middle of a 1-yr pre-paided plan and another S2 box on $6.95 MSD can I change the service number on the pre-paided box to a new THD and keep the same billing plan? The one I want to swap out is "my" Tivo and the other is my wife's Tivo so, as you can imagine, the SP/WL/etc are quite different. I don't want to mess around w/ swapping her's out, then having to change all of the SP/WL/etc.

Thanks
Tommy

umm if they are all in the same house and billing why does it matter?

Just get the new box and put them wherever in the house you want, and whatever SP/WL/Etc you want on each box.

If you get the new box on MSD, both boxes will be connected.
Maybe I did not state it clearly enough. Let me try again.

I want to deactivate one box and replace it w/ a THD so I will only have 2 boxes total (1 THD & 1 S2). The easier one to deactivate from a convenance stand-point (not having to phyically move one, not having to mess w/ re-organizing SP/WL/etc) would be the one in the middle of a 1-yr pre-paided plan I purchased from tivo.com (web special-refurb). So my questions are, if I go to tivo.com and swap out service numbers from the old S2 w/ the pre-paided plan "attached" to it to a new THD, 1 -Is this possible? 2 - Will my billing stay the same? If if do not like the THD, can I then switch the service numbers back to the S2?

I guess my concern is this, is the 1-yr pre-paid plan attached the box since I purchased as a "web special-refurb" from tivo.com or can I freely swap tivo boxes in and out?

Am I making this harder than it needs to be? Am I missing something?

Yes.

2 - Will my billing stay the same?
Yes.

Yes
Thanks for the info.

One last billing question (I hope).

Once my 1 yr pre-paided plan is up in Jan, can I buy the 3 yrs for $299 pre pay plan (if it is available at the time) to use on my existing boxes or is that offer only good on new boxes/activations? I could not find a definitive answer on tivo.com.

Sorry if I seem a bit dense, I usually have a pretty good handle on things like this but, for whatever reason, I can never find clear-cut pricing info on tivo.

You can do that, but not online. You'll have to actually call Tivo when the one year is up and have them change it to a three year prepay.

Since Q1 hasn't actually been answered yet.

$12.95, $6.95 'cuz that's what you are already paying and $10.95 for the third just like the website stated.
OT:
Can some one tell me why the month to month and the prepaid plans are two different prices?
3 year month to month is $6.95 = $250.20
3 year Prepaid is $299.00

No MSD on prepaid plans.

Consensus is that this is at least odd and perhaps stupid.
It depends who thinks it is stupid.

IMO it makes sense, since MSD requires a full price or Lifetime subbed box to qualify for, and there is no telling if that full priced/Lifetime box will disappear out of the equation. With that possibility, there is no way, to simply provide an MSD prepay.
