Since they only shoot 10 episodes a season (I think) the seasons move along very quickly. Wow, this season has been awesome. Initially I did not care for the Tater(?) character but she has grown on me. They've also added just a little bit more humor (like the girl commenting on the size to the nurse with regard to the guy in the hospital bed)

You love to hate the bad guys and the writers have filled in some backstory that makes earlier eps make sense now. Season 3 has been the best one so far, although 1 and 2 were very good.

I'm sure glad we are allowed to disagree on here;):)

We are HUGE Yellowstone fans. Season 3 started off so slow that after a couple episodes I asked my wife if she wanted to continue. Fortunately, she made me continue. I was a good season but not great by comparison. But that is largely because seasons 1 & 2 were so spectacular.

I am surprised there isn't more discussion on here about the series. It has turned out so popular.

I started watching it because it was recommended as binge worthy during the shutdown on one of the websites I frequent. I've enjoyed the show too and also wondered why there wasn't a discussion about it here. I searched and found an old thread that was started when the show first aired and it got a lot of lukewarm reviews which is probably why there wasn't any further discussion at the time. I just watched the season 3 finale last night and it was quite a cliffhanger. It will be interesting to see which characters return next season.

I think I read that the final show of the season was the highest rated non-network cable/sat show of the year. I was surprised the only thread allows spoilers so I hesitated to post any.

In the final ep, did anyone see what showed up on the evil woman's phone?
Not related, the writers left a lot of stories on the cutting room floor. For example, early on they seemed to be heading towards the nasty, black lipstick Indian woman working with Beth and kicking everyone's ass. They had a brief meeting and then nothing. Things jumped around from week to week, wife and I often wondered if we had missed an episode somewhere.

The show Longmire went from CW(I think) to Netflix and Netflix extended each ep to an hour rather than the standard 42 minutes; made a big difference. Paramount can continue to show the standard 42 minutes but, I suggest, Amazon add in stuff from the cutting room floor and extend it to an hour. Might really help with the flow of the show.

It doesn't seem feasible for some of the main characters to survive
Beth didn't open the box, her assistant is probably dead but she can survive, shielded from the blast by woman's body. The plot's need for a worthy foil for Jamie/Michael makes this almost certain.

We didn't see Kayce's shootout, and given his success in his previous gunfights I don't see him losing this one. But his death would really complicate John's plans, so he might be at some risk.

All John needs to survive is for somebody to come along, and I think plot-armor insures that's going to happen.

Jimmy likewise just needs someone to check the corral to live, but he's not the star of the show so I think he's the one most likely to not get his contract renewed. However, God is said to protect fools, and there isn't a bigger fool on the show. What might protect him is that he is the audience's POV in many respects; and if he's gone the only sympathetic character that remains is Tate, and he's obviously going to be the most spoiled child in Wyoming in a few months.

My wife and I just binge watched all three seasons - they were aired start to finish on Paramount over Christmas weekend. We loved it. I think Beth is my favorite character of any show, any time.

I think Beth survives but spends most of season 4 looking beat to hell, which seems to be her comfort zone. Kayce escapes unscathed, John dies. Who did it? Rainwater? Roarke? Jamie?

Wiki says it hit 5.16 American viewers which beats the previous high of 4.23 in the S3 premiere. It's my favorite show right now.
