That too bad.rjust said:I got sucked in to buying upgrade instructions off of eBay. Seventeen pages of instructions, ending with the warning about booting to XP with TiVo drives installed. Unfortunately I was following the instructions step by step on about page six and booted without the CD drive being enabled for boot up. That apparently overwrote the the boot sector on my TiVo A and (does it matter?) on B.
I see some cryptic references to Make TiVo Bootable, a utility I found. I also found many conflicting schemes for making it work. Does anyone have a routine they can send me that will bring the A drive boot sector back to something TiVo can read?
Download WinMFS and try tools-> fixboot page option1 or 2
What Windows XP service pack are you running?
W/ sp2, drives do not auto mount so it's ok to boot with it unless you use disk manager to mount the drive manually.
