I have an XG1V4 box and also have a Roku for the 'Beta app' but I'm wanting to try an Apple TV to see if I prefer that. I bought a 1 year old ATV4 reasonably and I'm curious to know if any of the networks might allow direct streaming for VOD etc using Xfinity 'credentials'? I have no idea.

I'm good with my Xfinity 'relationship' now but they released a new Rate Card for the 2 County area I live in. Xfinity hasn't had a firm agreement with either County for a number of years. They 'sorta' do as they please. I'm quite rural and it's for sure an only HSI option.

I'm good with my Roamio, a Mini for CableCard but my agreement expires 6/2021.

Yes, you can use your Xfinity credentials to log into TV everywhere apps for lots of different broadcast and cable channels on Apple TV and most other devices. The main platform that they won't let you use is Android TV.

It appears as I suspected - There's no way of confirming short of trying each individually as W/Xfinity the TV Provider stipulates individual login for app. With some/most I believe you just supply 'credentials' once and pick an app! I'll see how this sorts itself out. Currently it's not an issue. Maybe an ATV user W/Xfinity will stumble in here and offer up a list of sorts. I've never streamed much content at all but there's some interesting product available through a couple Public Library affiliations. Hoopla & Kanopy have pretty extensive content.

You cannot log into Starz with your Xfinity credentials, @NashGuy has written about why recently, I can confirm that as I have both Xfinity and the latest Apple TV. The Xfinity Stream app is also not available on Apple TV and I also believe @NashGuy wrote about this last year but I haven't seen any more news on it (I google a few search terms on this once a month or so to see if there is anything that has popped up and haven't seen anything significant). You can log into HBO, Epix, and lots of the other cable channels that are not premium like HGTV, Food Network, ESPN, Fox Sports, and various cable news channels. I haven't tried all of the channel apps, just those that I watch. There is no Cinemax app for Apple TV and I think it may all now be a part of HBO Max which I also have from my ATT unlimited data sub but I haven't tried to look any Cinemax shows/movies up yet on it. Yeah, Apple TV has a feature called Single Sign-On. In the box's Settings, you can log in with your Xfinity (or other cable TV provider) credentials and that will then automatically log you into any eligible TV Everywhere app you install. I think if you go to the App Store after doing Single Sign-On, you'll see a banner that will list all your eligible apps.

There is no Cinemax app for Apple TV and I think it may all now be a part of HBO Max which I also have from my ATT unlimited data sub but I haven't tried to look any Cinemax shows/movies up yet on it. Hope this helps!

The Max Go app for streaming Cinemax only ever existed for mobile devices and they even shut those down awhile back. Max Go is just a website now. Although it was reported last summer that Cinemax content would get absorbed into HBO Max, that hasn't happened so far. But WarnerMedia did say awhile back that they weren't going to commission any more seasons of Cinemax Originals. I think they're going to air whatever they've already filmed/acquired this year (including a second season of Warrior) and that'll be that. I had predicted that they would just kill Cinemax when HBO Max launched but they're not (despite the fact that Comcast and Charter removed the channel from all their bundles last year and DISH completely dropped it the year before, causing subscriber numbers to plummet). Perhaps Cinemax will end up being demoted from an a la carte premium to an upper-tier cable channel that exclusively airs older films, ad-free. Sort of like what MoviePlex is to Starz, Cinemax would be to HBO Max. I don't think even WarnerMedia knows yet what they're going to do with it but it seems destined to fade into irrelevance.

I believe it's very much as I expected before I even considered the Apple TV but I thought it worth the ask. THANKS!! I believe that if anything 'crazy' transpired W/QAM & CableCard I could manage my TV needs with a streaming option of some sort. Once accustomed to the ATV menu and presentation I believe I'll be fine. I've had 'no premiums' for quite some time (years), The HBOMAX for the reduced rate was attractive enough for me to say try it!! I've 11 plus months of that and once the Xfinity stores open again and are back to full staff I might try a negotiation of HBO with them that might keep me at my reduced rate. The ATV remote seems to give me fits!

I bought a Bolt & MINI VOX during the last 'Premiere Trade' deal just because I thought it presented reasonable options moving forward. I really believe that with all of the streaming options available a 1TB HDD should easily be manageable enough for TV content. A couple 'current seasons' of most of the network productions.

This is an excellent point and one that's a grind for me and partly why I haven't adapted to using apps more. They seem to be constantly updated, almost every couple of weeks. So you then need to go online and activate the app all over again via the web after it's been updated. I have about ten bookmarks on my iPhone for app activation that I constantly use to reauthorize my credentials. It's tedious and a big loss for Comcast customers.

WELL - WELL - WELL!!! That worked extremely well and I had a 1TB USB sitting here and I connected requesting only HD TVE. I believe it actually gave me 143 on it's 1st scan. I saw an option to scan for locals (mentioning that often ABC, NBC & FOX will provide TVE) Being in the WASH DC 'market' I let it do those and it added all 3. That's actually quite impressive!!

I had 8 CBSN FEEDS - KTLA 5 - I was quite surprised FS2 which isn't on a QAM W/CableCard was there. I had a few NETWORKS with 2 (I'm guessing that since it's an Xfinity (from who knows where) I see likely both E & W and the content is different!

The GUIDE is 'damn impressive'.

I'll leave this for a few days but I'd think this is pretty slick. AN HD-HR is only a 3 tuner box correct?

I damn sure have a list of Xfinity TVE that matches my subscription. It scanned and matched each and then finally processes the batch. When the guide had 2 days worth of content it told me go ahead and 'watch tv' it would complete on it's own.

I can see where a person with a NAS could really make this work well!! If I didn't have my TiVo hardware or if I had one that was failing looking for options this deserves some consideration!

I have a list now so I can sort that and subscribe to the ones that interest me.

I did a couple trial recordings and 'Commercial Skip' worked as it should have, It let me know that I started one recording 3 minutes late. It's very interesting!

It is what it is and here in this part of the "Wild & Wonderful' it's my only option! The 'suggestion' got me the needed info and I can pick/choose/sort what's of interest to me. I'm actually just interested in trying a different device. The Roku was/is a bit annoying. I'll tinker with the 'Connections DVR' some for a few days BUT for the few hours I tinkered it certainly did everything it's advertised to do.

Thank you so much!!! This project is complete and I used the list I generated to accomplish most everything I needed/wanted to accomplish. Some oddities I discovered, an NBC app gives you an 'all inclusive' of any that are in your subscription. There's some that just ain't available like Paramount, that might have been of interest with Yellowstone season 3 opening last evening. TiVo didn't do SKIP!!!

If true, that would be a change from the original terms and conditions and is not reflected on Xfinity's web site, which still provides only a conditional "pricing may change in the future" (see below):

At any rate, I am confident that the Xfinity Stream web portal for PC/Mac will always be available free of charge to CATV/HSI subscribers.
