Hi,

Anyone else experience any problems with incorrect channel listings on Tivo?

Specifically, I keep finding that what Tivo thinks is on the local pbs (sf bay area kqed - comcast 909) is often completely wrong. All my other channels seem to be fine.

Thanks,
Manny

Foster City area (peninsula) is mostly correct for KQED (709), during primetime, however, it's the "off-hours" (overnight/early morning) stuff that is often/sometimes wrong.

Cable KQED is a 24hr broadcast, but their OTA is not, only primetime; and sometimes the off-air cable schedule gets off I think. I've gotten a lot of "Desert Speaks" instead of Nature, for example.

Ooops, meant channel 709 above.

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Is there a way to let Tivo know about this? They're usually so with it, I'm really surprised this is happening.

I was hoping that just changing my zip code in the setup would fix the problem (like it did with my Sony DHG HDD250 DVR), but if this is happening in Foster City, too...

Thanks.

I've had the same problem (different city) since November. I've filled out the web form at least a half dozen times, but they can't figure it out. It probably didn't help that the cable co changed it a couple of times along the way. Unfortunately, it has never been correct. I gave up a couple of months ago.

Heh, Tribune has had OETA-HD wrong since I got my S3 a few months ago. I've reported it to both TiVo and Tribune innumerable times but they refuse to fix it.

The HD channel is cable only, and is only sometimes the same as the OTA SD channel. (they multicast instead of doing HD) Most irritating is that OETA-HD is nothing more than a simulcast of the national PBS-HD feed, with their station ID promo spliced in between programs.

On a similar note, it took them a month and a half to figure out that Cox added National Geographic HD (it only updated when there was another lineup change) and they still haven't figured out that Cox now has A&E HD, despite my reporting it several times.

Basically, the guide data for the HD channels is pathetic and neither TiVo nor TMS will do anything about it. It's maddening, as they used to be excellent about it, but now they completely ignore me (not even an email to ack the request!)

Our PBS in SWFL (WEDU from Tampa) has changed on 7/2...The main HD channel is now a simulcast of the main channel (in HD where applicable), and the subchannel which used to be a simulcast is now 'v me' PBS in Spanish.

Comcast just rolled out a new HD channel lineup increasing their core HD offerings and the Series 3 TiVo guide is missing channel data. Comcast advertised them going live on July 14th and kept to their word but I cannot use them to record.

704 - KRONHD
712 - CWHD

There are others as well, but I do not receive any extra packages so I just get the locals using cablecards as part of my basic service.

These do not have the channel guide data so I can not record or setup season passes. Is anyone else having this problem? I live in the East Bay Area in Pittsburg, CA.

I'm having the exact same problem in Salt Lake with Comcast and the PBSHD station (KUEDDT2 channel 658) the listing is 100% from the SD channel and since the SD and HD channels are 90+% different, I cannot use TiVo to schedule any recordings. To be able to get these channels I have reattached my OTA and then the listing is correct. It seems to me since TiVo can get it right OTA but not from digital cable it must be a Comcast issue. I have no idea who to report it to there, so I'm doing my own work around and fortunately have the choice of cable and antenna.

I just found this thread, it's nice to know the I'm not the only one that this is happening to. (btw, TiVo has been, at the most, a week late with adding new Comcast channels, whether they are HD or not. So no complaints there).

That's funny because my lineup changed July 12, and my Tivo had the changes two days early. Unfortunately, the changes were incorrect, but I think that's partially the fault of the cable co (the lineup is incorrect on their website too.) There are two wrong channels on the cable co website, and 11(!) wrong on the Tivo. As soon as the cable co fixes the two channels, I'll contact Tivo and give the PBS thing another shot (along with the other 10 channels).

I had no significant lineup problems the previous 6 yrs... I don't understand why they can't get it right since I got the S3.

I reported problems to Tivo about 12 days ago. Local PBS OTA digital has 3 channels HD, SD analog simulcast, and a third (currently called create). Cable version of SD analog simulcast gets programming listings duplicating HD. OTA version of SD analog gets create program listings. it would appear from this thread that the folks who set this up at Tivo are havings problems with PBS stations, many of whom run 3, 4, or 5 channels, depending on time of day.

The SA8300 cable box has the correct listings! Maybe I should fire up my retired XP MCE PC and see what it gets!

I got them to fix the equivalent problem here -- listings for a PBS SD channel being applied to their HD subchannel -- but it took two weeks and much harranguing. They already had the correct listings for the OTA version; this was for the Fios version of the channel. (Meanwhile, Verizon had the correct information in their own guide.)

It seems to me that the lineup department is incompetent. The representatives I talked to didn't even understand what OTA subchannels were.

Same here in Ohio. WEAO 49 was correctly identified but always had the wrong listings on their first channel (49-1). 49-2 looks OK. Funny enough, TiVo has listings for programming on 49-3, but there is just a blank signal there all the time - no programming yet.

I contacted TiVo through the web site listed above by mattack, so we'll see what happens.
