I will likely keep the S2 that I transfered a lifetime subscription from now that MRV is coming. I had been leaning toward giving up that second box after the year is up in January.

This says it all. A series 3 can transfer anything not copyprotected to a series 3. A series 3 can only transfer non-HD to a series 2.
