Powerline is a crapshoot, just like wireless. Can work great one day and not the next depending on your house wiring and local interference.

Better make sure you can return all that $375 worth of stuff if needed, or pay someone to run some cables instead.

Obviously you haven't seen the issues with interference on powerline then. That doesn't mean they don't exist.

The priority for Tivo networking hasn't changed:
1) Ethernet
2) MoCA
3) Powerline
4) Wireless

And there are good reasons for that order.
