I did an upgrade from my 160Gb drive to a new 500Gb using the new MFSLive, but there apparently is a bad sector on the 160Gb disk that was encountered during the backup and restore/expansion. Turns out it falls in MFS Applications. Despite the transfer error, the new disk booted fine and ran for about 2 hours before giving the GSOD error. I was wondering if the backup alternates of zipper would correct the MFS Applications, essentially overwriting or inserting whatever did not transfer during the upgrade.

the backup alteratives only help when the bad sector(s) are in non-critical areas.
If yours is in a critical area, your options are, unfortunately, limited and require much more work and knowledge. (and probably involve extraction, making this the wrong place to discuss them :( )

That's what I was afraid would be the answer. Thanks for the reply :) .
