I think Neal was trying to patch things up with Sara and even possible "leave the game" Keeping the location of the list secret meant that they would have to sit on the treasure and not retire to the islands after the last huge score.
At this point, the only thing preventing Neal and Mozzie from moving forward with their plans would be the list that tells them which items are safe to fence and which wouldn't be. By withholding the list, that bought Neal some time in NYC under his current life. Clearly, Neal is starting to have second thoughts about the plan, and is considering all the good parts he has in his current life.I'm with Mozzie at the end. Why didn't Neal tell him that he found the list? I didn't understand it last episode and I don't understand it now.
Yeah pretty much this. Neal is realizing that being on the right side of the law and the freedom he has is more rewarding than massive amounts of money and being constantly hunted. Plus the FBI is constantly challenging him to use his expertise in new ways, which would be fun for a guy like him. What does a guy like Neal do in "retirement" anyway? He'd be bored silly. At this point, the only thing preventing Neal and Mozzie from moving forward with their plans would be the list that tells them which items are safe to fence and which wouldn't be. I've been told that's the "style" now. I've seen a few shows where the actors are doing this. I think it makes for a sloppy look.I haven't liked Neal so far this season. Time for Mozzie to get a new best friend.
Neal's constant lack of a shave bothers me to no end now.
OK, that's all well and good, but then why wouldn't he just tell Mozzie about the list and tell him to go ahead without Neal?Neal is realizing that being on the right side of the law and the freedom he has is more rewarding than massive amounts of money and being constantly hunted.
He's not sure yet. He's torn. By withholding the list, he was buying time before he was forced to make the decision.OK, that's all well and good, but then why wouldn't he just tell Mozzie about the list and tell him to go ahead without Neal?
It's seems incredibly-out-of-character selfish for Neal to keep Mozzie around just because Neal wants to stay in NY.
I agree. That's how I interpreted his actions. He's not sure yet. He's torn. By withholding the list, he was buying time before he was forced to make the decision.
No, I think you're misinterpreting that. And if there is any doubt about that interpretation - look at the title of the episode.![]()
Yep, that's how I interpreted it.He's not sure yet. He's torn. By withholding the list, he was buying time before he was forced to make the decision.
You just gotta have Faith. And Neal certainly wanted to be on her...(as did I!)
Haven't you ever had a friend that you had grown apart from in terms of the things you like to do, but you don't want to tell them because you're afraid that might be all your friendship is based on?OK, that's all well and good, but then why wouldn't he just tell Mozzie about the list and tell him to go ahead without Neal?

Tru 'dat. Is there an Echo in here?Yeah, she's certainly quite a Doll...
Yes, and where have you all been with your "Saved by the Bell" and "One Tree Hill" jokes? HMMM?Ok, why are you all making Dollhouse jokes? I don't believe the actress who plays Sara was in that show. What am I missing?
You people and your obscure references...
