I'm new to this Tivo thing and realized I need a wireless adapter. I'll be using peer to peer..with a series 2 software 8.1. I went to the store to buy the Linksys USB11 and couldn't find any version of this at Best Buy or Comp USA, or Office Max. I'm so discouraged. I keep reading about all of these problems with Tivo not working properly with wireless and now I don't know what to do/buy!

Since I couldn't get the linksys USB11 I call Tivo tech support and ask if the WUSBG45 would be compatible--one person said yes, another said no. I've been at this for hours! I'm so frustrated. Who knew it would be this hard? I did review the compatible adapters list, but as i said couldn't find the USB11 at the stores...

Can anyone recommend a strong wireless adapter for use with a S2? I would just break down and buy the TIVO adapter but I hear thats useless once you stop using tivo service. Help!!

Why not just get the one made by TiVo? Best guaranteed compatibility and don't have to search around for something that has a serial number ending in a vowel and a green sticker, or whatever hoops you have to jump through to find a compatible 3rd party adapter.

It may not be as cheap, but you can get it for a decent price at Yahoo Shopping or Amazon or the like.

If you really want to go for a third party adapter though, here is the full information:

That part is true ... the TiVo wireless G adapter won't work with anything but a TiVo. I still think it's the best adapter out there for the job, though. It's also the only one that supports WPA.
