I have mentioned the Yule Log on my Series 2 but that's only two hours and I only want to listen to it once or twice, such as when I am decorating or taking down the tree. It's also serious, classical and mostly Christian. It's a premium quality product, and something special to do only a few times. I want the happy and lively but traditional sound which consists primarily of Nat King Cole, Perry Como, Ray Conniff, Bing Crosby and Andy Williams. Novelty tunes are fine. No Trans-Siberian Orchestra, no Mariah Carey, nothing contemporary sounding. Mannheim Steamroller is to be limited to "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" (the version that sounds like it was recorded centuries ago) and maybe "Deck the Halls".
I prefer to listen to music on my Roamio because listening to music on the desktop increases the chances it will freeze because it is doing too much. I only listen to music when the computer is on, which means I am doing something else.
But the Roamio only has a limited number of choices. There is Pandora but I don't know what to expect and the commercials were annoying when I tried it (actual iHeart stations have commercials but I'm used to those and know what to expect). I don't know what they have at Christmas.
There is iHeart but the only Christmas format I know of that I would approve of is Christmas Classics, except that format repeats the same songs every few hours. Besides, when I tried to go to it I always got some absolute garbage dance or rap music, even though it says "Christmas Classics" on the screen. Individual iHeart radio stations tend to do some good songs and some bad ones (even the ones I like year-round) and I don't want to be changing all the time.
