BTW, I'm actually WAY behind, like literally a year or more (I record in SD, have big hard drive).. I just check to do list and sometimes notice when it's not scheduled to record and wonder..

This is the major reboot that Trevor Noah teased and which he and his production team spent months engineering?

I have been an ardent TDS viewer ever since it launched in 1996 with Craig Kilborn at the helm, but the new format, set, and direction are a huge letdown based on this first episode (which should have been engineered to make maximum splash).

IMNSHO the show was MUCH more substantive, impactful, and funny when they were taping from Trevor's apartment. I'll give it a couple of weeks to find its groove, but if there is not a marked improvement I could see tapering off my viewing. And if this was the best they could come up with after three months on hiatus, then the outlook is not good. The interview with Tony Fauci was interesting (Trevor always was a stellar interviewer), but the rest of the show was forgettable and a waste of my time.
