I want to add more hours to my Tivo, So I have 2 options.

1. I can go to Weaknees and add To My Existing Storage(which well cost me $139 for a 160gb Drive) and save all my stuff on my Tivo

or

2. Go to tivorevolution.com and get a 250GB drive for $84.99 (Free ship) but lose all my stuff on my tivo.

So i can go with less Hd space but keep my shows I can't replace or bigger Hd but lose all my stuff.

if you were in my place what you do?Because i don't have a clue.

How hard is this?

and which guide should i use?
Single to Single Drive Upgrade right?
Not hard - read instructions on site -yes you should use single to single copy
then after copy you should expand to new total drive size Spike2k5 has made instructions simple and as long as your old drive is working that can be source of your image.

I think they use DB35 drives made for DVR so at least you get a good quality drive.

$84.99 for 250GB sounds too good to be true. Are they selling used?

How about a third option:

New bare 500GB drive is around $100 then copy the drive and expand capacity yourself. That way you get to keep all your recordings and settings and have one large drive setup which is lot better than dual drive setup.

The web site says "This is a like new" so I guess yes Used.
From the web site:

This is a like new, 250GB Maxtor Quickview DVR drive, these drives are specifically designed for DVR's and offer optimized performance, reliability, and acoustics, they are widely known to possibly be the best and quietest drive ever designed for DVR use. Quickview drives were the drive of choice for TiVo factory installs before Seagate acquired Maxtor and discontinued the product line. All drives have been scanned and certified 100% error free by the Maxtor PowerMax utility. I am also backing this with a 1 year replacement warranty directly from me. In addition I also configure the drives with an acoustic management tool to ensure silent operation, this is important, some upgrade drives that are not configured this way will make your TiVo sound like a popcorn machine!
