No, I haven't been in prison. I've just been happily watching TV. But I'm sure my two DTivos are helplessly out of date.
In early 2004 I got two series 2 DTivos. Sometime that summer or fall I hacked them with 4.0.1b and set them up to do multi-room so I could transfer shows from one to the other. They are also running TivoWebPlus, Hackman, and EndPadPlus, although all of those are from the 2004 timeframe.
So, what am I missing out on? Should I upgrade these to 6.2? I heard 6.2 is faster. Does it also support everything I've been doing? For example, will multi-room still work? Does it add any new features I'd want? I guess the Zipper thing is something I should be looking at?
One thing I've had to be careful of in the past is that I have no home phone (only cell phone). I've gotten in situations before where the TiVo has wanted to make a phone call to finish guided setup, and it's been very tricky to get past that.
So, what would you all recommend for me? I'm going to get busy reading, but if you could give me a jump start and any advice, I'd appreciate it.
