My pvr has rebooted twice since the update. I hope this is not one of the new features of this update.

Gained HME, lost MRV.

"Up"grading to 6.3e gets a big  IMHO

For users of this forum, we did not gain HME nor lose MRV, as HME was there in earlier 6.3 and MRV wasn't.

From what I've read elsewhere, this was a "bug fix" update - no feature changes for the HR10.

Sorry, my bad. I wasn't browsing by forum. I clicked the link for this thread from the first screen that just lists most recent posts, and didn't realise I was in the HDTV forum.

When my HR10-250 downloaded 6.3e, I began having freeze/unresponsive remote/reboot problems whenever I tuned to one particular local digital OTA station. Also during that time the station had a power failure and rebooted its digital encoder.

I removed that station from my favorites list and have not accessed it in over a week and the receiver has not even hiccuped. I've not had the guts to see if the problem will happen again.

Related? Who knows. ;)

Thunderclap, you're in the wrong forum section. This discussion about 6.3e does not apply to you. Go see the Series 3 section.

RS4, HME is Home Media Entertainment (?) features, formerly called HMO. Pictures, Music and Java applications.

Actually, HME is the "Home Media Engine", which was added as a subset of HMO, the "Home Media Option" which originally had to be paid for, but was later included for free on all SA TiVos. HME allows developers to write applications that will run on SA TiVos, but I don't think that it exists on any of our DTiVos.

Best Regards,
Ed

The HME code exists in 6.3 but is disabled by default. It can be enabled with a patch.
Interesting...so MRV should be able to be done through Galleon...I didn't realize HME was there, or I would've running Galleon all this time.

MRV is Multi-Room Viewing - typically this term is used to refer to the TiVo standalone built-in feature. However, with HME and hacked DTiVos and mfs_ftp, you can "fake" MRV. Galleon is a program that runs on a PC on your local network that handles HME requests from boxes. I learned about Galleon and the hacks on the "database of deals" forum that can't be linked to here.
