So I tried to have Comcast install my card (s) today. They just came out with the new M cards in Philadelphia so the tech brought 4 just in case. He did everything he could but his dispatcher at the home office insisted that Comcast does not support M cards outside of their own DVR's. This makes no sense to me.

Needless to say after two hours they could not activate the card. The dispatcher insists that she sent through a code to activate the card, but nothing could be done.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome!

The dispatcher was full of it. Either the next time they come out, or when you call to set it up call Tivo (look around here, someone has posted a direct number to Tivo's cable card folks) if they give you any gruff and will set them on the right path.

You better talk to a supervisior at your cable company.. If that will not get you the desired result, then call Tivo, and have them do a three way call with your provider, until your cable company can figure out what they should already know...

This appears to be a nation wide problem, with the cable folks not wanting to pair your card/cards to your Tivo... They feel their equipment is superior to that of Tivo's...

Were this the case, everyone that has purchased a Tivo would not have done so, were the cable boxes worth a darn...

I had to have Tivo call my cable provider, just to finally admit they even "had" cable cards...
