Should this WD Red Drive work on my Tivo Roamio OTA? I purchased it from Amazon and when I install it, it hangs on the Welcome Screen. I put the original 500G drive in and it loads fine. I read to avoid the Red Plus so I ordered the current WD Red. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

The EFAX (up to 6TB) are SMR and should be avoided.
Where did you read that the Red Plus should be avoided when its the recommended drive to use. Plus is CMR.

Yes, all models ending in EFRX, EFZX (newer model) are Red Plus/CMR and should work.

Roamio (under v20) can self-format up to 3TB (up to 282 HD hrs), and up to 8TB (or more) connecting to a Windows computer and use MFSR. Suggest that a 3TB needs MFSR run on also. v21 will format to any size larger than 3TB, but it may be under-performed (meant for Bolt/Edge better.)
