Ah, it's not just you. It is legit hard to undestand. Instruments are burying the vocals. And it's heavily compressed too.

Who's the guy in the hat? He looks so familiar.
That's Steve Jay, Al's bass player.

The song was just a goof, they're much better than that. It's like an original piss take.

Here's a song by his guitarist, Jim "Kimo" West, who's considered one of the best slack key guitarists in the world.

I'm sure they're all great musicians... but when making a goof song, how about making it so you can hear the lyrics and don't want to poke your ears out with an ice pick? You can have good goof songs.

If I recall from the CD at my college radio station, it sounded fine. I'm thinking it's one of those YouTube uploads with audio all over the place because someone recorded it on a potato.

I've always liked him and would like to see it. I have a Roku3 unit. Don't know about the Roku streamer, though, so will have to see if it has a fee or what, or if it's even on my old Roku unit.

The Roku Channel should be free on all Rokus. I'm listening to the album of music from the movie on Amazon Music. Al rerecorded many of his hits, and has some others written just for the movie.

I just watched Weird and loved it. I was laughing so hard at times that I had to pause the show. I also watched the "Backstage Pass" video (mostly clips mixed with comments by the actors and producers) - it was strange (weird!) seeing Daniel Radcliffe, made up as Al, speaking with a British accent. None of the actors playing real people really resembled who they were supposed to be, but that was fine. "Cameos" by (actors as) other famous people were fun. That scene with Al's dad and the accordion salesman, though... wow!
