This model is old, out of warranty and no longer made. Intellipark and PUIS may need to be disabled. Roamio can support up to 3TB without computer hookup, maybe more if under v21.
EURX is also noisier running.
Recommended: WD Red Plus, CMR, models end in EFRX, EFZX.

I'm using a WD10EURX and WD30EURX in 4 Roamio boxes. They are no longer made, but none have failed after 4 years. They are silent.

I have the 10EURX in a S3 and can hear it running, chittering.

I checked that PUIS was disabled.

I thought Intellipark would no be an issue at boot time?

Thanks for the info about recommended current drives, which are CMR. and that 3TB should just work.
I understand the SMR may be a problem and WD and others have made some pretty angry with this downgrade, which is hard to avoid. See

I saw one review which complained about the WD Purple, because its Write Priority may make interfere with reading (watching video). The reviewer liked WD in general, but purple made him see red haha (IWO angry)
