Received an email from Newegg this am and the WD green 1TB drive is on sale for $309 delivered and in stock.

Just thought some might be looking for this drive for upgrades.

Shows 319 on their website right now. 309 isn't much of a sale when they were just 259 at BB a couple weeks ago.

Anyone know if they're going on sale (for real) this weekend anywhere?

The link is to 2 500GB drives, not a 1TB drive.
Cavalry Storage brings you a 1 TB Dual Bay External Drive Solution with USB 2.0 Plug & Play. The cooling fan with On/Off switch help dissipates the heat. The solution is available in 2 configurations, BIG and JBOD. With the BIG configuration, it has twice the capacity of a single drive by combining two 500GB drives into one. With the JBOD configuration, it sees itself as two separate 500GB drives. The solution is Vista Compatible.

I assumed the OP was searching for an EXternal drive

Which is useless for a Tivo. And with 1TB *single* drives so cheap now, why would anyone want a dual-500? That gives you have the effective MTBF, which is a bad thing with hard drives and data.

I'd say steer away from the dual-drives-in-a-box.

I just bought the WD WD10EACS from FuturePowerPC.com for $291 which includes shipping and tax (exept for NYC) So this less that the recent BB price of $280 plus tax.

I also found the SIIG Sata cable at Buy.com for $8.99 plus tax and shipping. I bought the Antec MX1 from Circuit City for $39.99. Yes I know it 3 different vendors but the best prices today.
