Not sure about iPhones, but I'm doing that right now with my iPad Pro in a hotel - USB dock to power and put HDMI out to the TV. Runs fine, no copyright issues. Only problem is a wonky resolution because the TiVo app refuses to use the iOS standard media player so it stays stuck in "mirror" mode instead of native 1080p.If I get a dongle for my iPhone to connect it via HDMI to a TV, can I stream programs on my iPhone, which will then appear on my TV's screen? Or will copyright issues prevent it from being seen?
The TiVo app doesn't offer the ability to use AirPlay or GoogleCast. You can mirror/cast over wi-fi from your phone to a TV if both are on the same wi-fi channel.
If the TV is not a smart TV, you will need to add a streamer like a Fire or Roku stick to make it smarter.
It will airplay on iOS, but not google cast. I've airplayed to Apple TV's in the past. The TiVo app doesn't offer the ability to use AirPlay or GoogleCast.
How?It will airplay on iOS, but not google cast. I've airplayed to Apple TV's in the past.
Use the systems built in airplay mirroring. Swipe down to open the control center, click the airplay icon next to the media square and pick the tv from there. How?
There is no AirPlay icon in the TiVo app.
Thanks! Never knew you could do that. Works great on my Vizio with built in Airplay.Use the systems built in airplay mirroring. Swipe down to open the control center, click the airplay icon next to the media square and pick the tv from there.
