How do I watch downloaded content on my TiVo Series 2?

I've got TiVo Desktop setup and have been able to download shows from the TiVo to my PC. Have also placed a test.mpg file in My TiVo Recordings directory and the TiVo sees it but won't upload it.

I'd like to watch, for starters, Digital Life TV from Ziff Davis as an example. It seems that it's just a matter of getting the downloaded video in the correct MPEG2 format. Is this correct? If so, any tips on how to do it?
