An enjoyable episode, but it was really a 60 minute episode stretched out 30 minutes too long.
Good to see it back, though.

This. The number of commercials was insane. Even with fast forwarding it was distracting to have the story broken up so many times. An enjoyable episode, but it was really a 60 minute episode stretched out 30 minutes too long.

Yes, the boy was just seeing how close he could get I believe.Agreed that it seemed stretched. Also tons of commericals.
I don't get what the boy was doing with the deer at the end. Why was he walking up to it? And was the dude with the Shotgun really going to kill it? (when they can't shoot in fear of alerting the hordes?)
A year or so ago, my friend was telling us about a young deer that walked up to his grandpa's ( whom is also his next door neighbor) back door and let him pet it. While we were there that weekend hanging out in the back yard, that deer them walked right up to us while about 6 of us stood around and petted it.I get deer in my backyard all the time and I have NEVER got that close to one. As soon as they see or hear me they high tail it out of there.
If your spoiler is correct then how come the dead people in the cars didn't well you know?I was worried about this show since the show runner got fired. A show like this needs smart writers because it can go from being good TV to being yet another campy zombie show real quick.
I forget all the character's names.
Didn't they point out last season that the zombies could smell? You'd think the herdof zombies would have smelled them.
The token black guy gashed in his forearm pretty good on (what looked like) a windshield wiper. I thought he was going to pass out from loss of blood, or the zombies sniffed him out and he'd be dead.
Glad the show is back! Not sure the story benefited by adding an extra half hour. I'm sure AMC benefited financially with all the extra commercials. I just think that if you're going to extend an episode, have enough story to fill it. Unless the story has me fixated on whats going on it can start to feel long.
Unless we move forward in time I think this season will focus on saving the Sheriff's son, and what the CDC guy said to him at the end of last season.
I think the CDC guy told the Sheriff that everyone is already infected. That once you die, the infection will reanimate your corpse.
