I have had the same thing happen on Saturday and today, Monday. I go to the menu and select a station and then it works fine. In fact it happened on Saturday 9-15-07 also. I was mad because I missed Motorweek. I wonder if Directv has an intermittent satellite problem?
video signal not available
last few days, nothing being recorded..statement says no video signal available. a few posts say someone in household cancelled the program but most were signal unavaible.

Well, DirecTV is in the middle of getting the new MPEG4 HD channels online, so they could be having some outages.
However, the first thing to do is a restart or reboot.
If using only one sat input, make sure you have it setup to only use one.
