Has anyone ever had zero signal on VHF but UHF coming in at >80+?

The failure occurred while she was chasing a program earlier this evening, the signal disappeared about 15 minutes in. She switched to TV and caught most of the show which was coming in strong.

This is a Series 3 TCD648250B Lifetime, and it looks as if the VHF side of the tuner has died.

Presumably the OTA VHF/UHF tuner is an integrated component so am figuring some kind of external cause took out the VHF and left the UHF functional.

Being a Lifetime machine, am hoping there is a way to fix the problem.

Did you try rebooting the Tivo?
Yes.

Did all the typical things like power off, rescan etc and nothing changed.
This is a long shot, but you could try changing out the cables (and splitters) to the Tivo. It is possible that the cable is damaged, but only affects the lower frequencies. This would be a cheap fix if it works.
Is the behavior identical for both tuners?
What kind of antenna is it attached to?

I'd hoped for that too, but swapping cables between TV and Tivo made no difference.

Is the behavior identical for both tuners?

- Digital signal acquired with several bars of red
- No digital signal

Messages are not alternating so they are occurring on both tuners.

Something is there some of the time because there can be a peak of 30 plus, with variances down to sub-teens.

What kind of antenna is it attached to?

Old, large, multi-element Winegard, but have ruled the antenna out. The same cable to the TV receives VHF fine, and up until 8:14pm Sunday night the Tivo received VHF fine.
