Maybe this should be on the Roamio forum but starting here.

Last night I started getting a V117 error and cannot play recordings. Roamio is 16 months old, on an Atlantic BB cablecard. No mini, just the Roamio.

Live TV works and programs are recording

Re booted but same issue.

My box must have rebooted during the day as all the tuners were on the same channel after work. I notice I have 21.9.7v10

Re booted several times with no fix. Powered down my Roamio, router and modem then powered back up one at a time.

It started working but I didnt have Sort By Season any longer. Re booted Roamio and that was back.

This morning the V117 issue is back.

Any chance this may be a version issue or am I looking at a hard drive or possibly something else?

edit-Restart Box option from menu is not working.
Power saving options are off

Just tried playing paused recording and those work immediately (no pause from the pre roll out add attempt)

The V117 issue comes after the attempted pre roll with the normal gray background arrows and then the screen goes black then the V117.

It almost like the pre roll isnt communicating with Tivo then I get the error. Does this make sense?

I apologize for the inconvenience this caused you. Please be informed that we have an Outage right now regarding this V117 error code. Our Specialists are currently investigating this issue. Once we have updates of the resolution, you will be notified via phone or email. Thank you for your patience. In the meanwhile, kindly do these following steps:

1. Do a TiVo Service Connection twice (MENU > SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > TiVo Service Connection).
2. Restart your TiVo box.
3. Do another TiVo Service Connection twice (MENU > SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > TiVo Service Connection).

Right now, recordings are playing from beginning after unplugging the Tivo for 30 minutes.

I havnt forced the 2 service connections. I think I will leave well enough alone and see how it works later

For now, yard work is calling and its getting hot out there

V117 error came back before I went outside. Tried the 2 service connections, no help.

Now, 4 hours later its working again.

No more messages from Tivo about a fix on their end. Last service connection was the one I did 4 hours ago around 11am

Hope it stays working.

Definite software bug, not a hardware problem with your TiVo.

I haven't tried this, but I wonder if the V117 bug would go away if you called TiVo customer service, and had them stop the pre-roll commercials on your particular TiVo box. The Pre-roll commercials can be stopped, but only by calling customer service.

FWIW, I am also getting this error on my Roamio. Very annoying, that a bug in a feature that I don't want is interfering with the normal functioning of the device. What I do is bang on OK a few times, and hit the BACK button a few times, and then after waiting about 30 seconds or so, I am returned to the menus, and can watch the show I wanted to.

Tivo called me at 7:15pm but I was outside. Checked email and they said that the pre roll ads have been removed from my box.

Checked my box and sure enough V117 error is back again but pre roll attempt still there. Tried calling Tivo but they are now closed until tomorrow.

Forced a service connection and re booted the box.

Pre roll ads are gone and recordings are playing properly again.

I started having this problem quite some time ago. Finally called Friday afternoon. After 1/2 an hour he said it was a know issue and was being workied on. In the mean time he said he was going to disable the pre roll BS. I thought, great. Well 2 days later and I still had pre roll on both devices. Yesterday I got an an email saying it was fixed. One device is working, at least so far the other I haven't messed with yet. I'm still getting ads but not the v117 error.

We'll see what happens today. I may try excluding ads from my router.
