I have a 60hr tivo which ive had for a few years now and I upgraded it so I have 234hrs of recording @ basic settings. I recently got a HD-DVR from comcast cause i'd like to beable to watch and record my shows in HD but still use my TIVO to record alot of my other programs. the programs that my TIVO would record would not be on a channel higher than 70. But for some reason i cannot find the option in TIVO to tell it im not using a cable box. Can anyone give me some info on how to hook this up?

Current setup

Cable splitter from wall

1st Cable output to,
Motorolla HD-DVR- Connected to TV through component connection

2nd cable output to,
TIVO, Tivo then connected to TV though SVIDEO and RCA audio

I get it to one stop where it says it detects signal on channel 2,3, and 4 and wants you to choose what channel your TV needs to be on, however i cannot change the channel on the TIVO.

got it thanx, i had to do it twice because i selected RF instead of cable the first time, then just had to select the option of not using a cable box.

now im trying to find out if there is any use to those ports on the back of the new comcast hd-dvr cause it has SATA, ethernet, usb and firewire on the back.

Maybe once TiVo Series 3 software is loaded on it there will be.
