HELP -
I've seen a set-up for coaches who use a tivo in conjunction with a camcorder and tv to record athletes performing on delay so that they can view their skills.
So I bought a Tivo and can't get it setup. Do I have to subscribe to Tivo to make mine work or is their a way to utilize the anteana input? Also I've heard that by buying a Series 2 it won't work - only with series 1 the very first models will this gym setup work.
Any ideas?

I'm not sure which model TiVo you purchased, but you are correct, a Series 2 won't work without a subscription.

Any basic DVR can do what you're looking for but AFAIK (as far as I know) only the Toshiba TiVo/DVD recorder, models RSTX20 or RS TX60 will work with a camcorder using the S-video input. These come with "TiVo basic" meaning you can make manual recordings without a subscription and you can also watch the 30 minute live buffer. You can burn the recording to DVD as well. You should be able to find one on e-bay.

Any Tivo can be connected to a video camera, some of the DVD models just make it a whole lot easier for some people.
