I just enabled Alexa on my Tivo and it works fine for the most part. I've been able to launch Netflix and Prime Video. However, how do I navigate left or right and select "Who's watching Netflix?" using Alexa voice commands. For that matter, how do I navigate to select movies or move up/down on the Tivo guide?

You have to use the remote. They haven't added navigation like that to the Alexa skill.

Thanks for the quick response. That's unfortunate. Though, I have a friend who's an Alexa Skill developer. I should ask him.

The TiVo skill I was playing around with (see my sig below) supported all remote commands. But it was a bit cumbersome to have to say:

"Alexa, tell TiVo to launch Netflix"
"Alexa, tell TiVo send command left"
"Alexa, tell TiVo send command left"
"Alexa, tell TiVo send command down"
"Alexa, tell TiVo send command enter"
etc...

I did put in macro support (so I could do things like "Alexa, tell TiVo execute macro Plex PIN" and it would enter my four digit PIN and press enter) but it wasn't perfect by any means.

Windracer; Thanks. I tried using the above "TiVo send commands", but I couldn't get any of the above commands to work. Am I missing any specific additional Skills?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was referring to my own custom TiVo skill for Alexa, not the official one.

Yeah, the link in my signature will take you to Github and the installation instructions are in the wiki there. Just beware that it requires some hackery and is not for the average user.
