Using a TiVo series 1 in 2020

I have been thinking about buying a series 1 TiVo and I have decided to either get a Phillips HDR112 or a Sony SVR 2000. I do not have a phone line or plan on getting a phone line anytime soon so is there a way to get Ethernet on a series 1? Also, is there anything like AltEPG for the US?

Forget the Series 1 since they have been decommissioned and no longer works to get guide. Phone lines are gone also.
