I just received a used Premiere (TCD746320)
No manual or cable card. All I wish to do with this unit is be able to view & record OTA TV broadcasts. Do I need the cable card or an account to allow this. Thanks for any replies

no cablecard needed for ota, connect the antenna to the input and run guided setup.

You just need to have it on your tivo.com account, with Tivo service. Monthly, yearly, lifetime (of unit, not user)

If the Tivo has lifetime service, I don't think you have to open a Tivo account unless you want connectivity with another Tivo.

Or want to use the TiVo app, TiVo Online or any of the tools like kmttg or TiVo Desktop.
