I have a series 1 tivo that is several years old. Recently I upgraded to HD DVR from the cable co (which sucks compaired to tivo...but that is another story). I want to keep my tivo hooked up in parallel but it no longer has a cable box to control and set channels.

If i remember right, the Tivo can be used as a tuner without a box, but i cant find how to configure it to do this.

Yes, but you will probably want to run set up again.

And how do i run the setup again? (its been a LONG time since i had to do it)

In Messages&Setup>Reset/Restart Recorder. Redo Guided Setup is one f those options.
