I'm a DirecTV subscriber who went out today to purchase a Standalone Series 2 because I'm in need of a DVR, but don't want to hassle with beta testing the new R15.

Is it just me or are there no network cards currently on the market that are on Tivo's compatibility list? I searched every BestBuy and Circuit City card on the shelf and none of them have a "thumbs up!" I really wanted to get this going today and not wait on a Tivo and Tivo USB wireless adapter, but I may have to do that.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Order the adapter from Tivo (their branded one) Then you don't have to search for a specific brand/version. The reason you need a certain one is that Tivo only has certain drivers loaded on it.

In the meantime, set it up using a phone line. If you have DirectTV, you can split the phone line you already have by your TV. You can't do the HMO stuff until you add the network support, but you can add that pretty easily later.

I'm just going to order it all off of Tivo's site, I guess. That way I can get the instant rebate w/ 12 mos of service.

Thanks!
