OK... So I took advantage of the Big Lots $70 Dual Tuner Sale. Awesome. I have had them running for a day and I LOOOOOOVE dual tuners now. :)

But I had already added both of those IDs to the 9.1 priority update list. And after both of them received their full schedules, I forced it to do another update hopin git would get the new Tivo version..... and it looked like it did. I was happy. I am hoping that once they are all at 9.1, I will be able to use the MRV and stuff again. Going to transfer the stuff on the old bedroom tivo to the new one so I can deactivate the old one.

Spent half an hour or so updating the TiVo, and rebooted yet again. YAY!

I looked and realized that nothing was really different. Looking in the system info, I see that both the DT's went from 7.2.5 to 8.3..... NOT 9.1 ?????

Grrrr... suppose I will have to wait a while to get my 9.1 update.

As Steve says 9.1 is not the default release yet. All new Tivos will upgrade to the current GA release on their second service call. Just be patient and I'm sure the 9.1 upgrade will occur in the next day or two.

Sometimes updates such as these need to be done in stages since the lastest version of a software may not be able to convert the data of some older versions.
I do not know that this is the case for TiVos.

Or if you're lucky, it won't.
I received 9.1 on 2 DT models, a 240, an SD h400 and a RS TX20 model of TiVo. All of them are still working up to snuff with no issues. Now I manage my shows with season passes and only use to-do-list for one off changes and have like 6 Wishlists.

I made a new and better football wishlist so I could get just the teams I want and one specific post game wrapup show. Also my wife did the George Clooney - er wishlist to catch some of his movies.

I find 9.1 to be a great update with no real problems

and yes it makes sense to give one new TiVo 8.3 right now as for this 9.1 update MRV is not backward comptible and TiVo is instead trying to get all TiVo DVRs on the same account upgraded at the same time, like happened for me.

But my problem is that my original 240 and 540 are both running 9.1. And now that my new ones arent, I am wondering how long I have to wait before I can transfer the shows from them to the new DTs. I realize it will probably only be a day or two.... but I am an instant gratification kind of guy.

Whats the use of all this newer/faster/better technology if I have to wait to use it?

:D

I am in the same boat. Snagged the BigLots deal, and it upgraded on night one. To 8.3. My other units have been 9.1 for awhile now (no issues). As a result, my new can't see any of my other units. My other units can see it, but the "Now Playing on TivoDT" folder appears to be empty (it is not...)

So why don't you add yourself to the 9.1 Priority list to get it??

Just add the TSN from the new box to this page...
