Coming in November.
9.2x will NOT include MRV or TTG. This is a misleading concept on the part of several other forum goers posting notes on the 9.2 patch. Tivo has stated that 9.2 is for eSATA enabling in Series 3's , and viewing of movies while downloading them from Amazon Unboxed. THAT'S IT.GoHokies! said:The MRV status has to be changed on your account (system info screen) from i,i,i to a,a,a. I would presume that Tivo would do this once they've rolled out whatever 9.x final release to the general public.
TokyoShoe..welcome from another Houstonian. I assume you are a Comcast user (gotta love that 15% price increase this month, eh?)TokyoShoe said:9.2x will NOT include MRV or TTG. No MRV. That is still due in November.
They better. The MRV they fielded in 9.1 is a terrible downgrade in performance on S2 boxes.GoHokies! said:As Adam said in the other thread that is being discussed, do you really think that they're going to roll a third new software update in 2 months to get this next month?
The code has got to be in there, but even if it is, we're not going to see it until Tivo allows us to at the server end of things.
How so? I hadn't noticed any issues, but I haven't been spending a lot of time with my S2's lately. Overall speed is down?RoyK said:They better. The MRV they fielded in 9.1 is a terrible downgrade in performance on S2 boxes.
Transfer speed is up somewhat on my system, all other components (navigation etc.) are glacial and get even worse when navigating to a box currently involved in a transfer. Additionally have had situations where transfers could not be stopped short of unplugging the source box and where the box would hang up refusing to respond to remote commands until it was reset. I'd rate it somewhat above a disaster but not far.GoHokies! said:How so? I hadn't noticed any issues, but I haven't been spending a lot of time with my S2's lately. Overall speed is down?
Cool, thanks (or very not-cool, actually)- I'll look at that when I get home (and I'm looking forward to being a part of that crowd next Thursday night against BCRoyK said:Transfer speed is up somewhat on my system, all other components (navigation etc.) are glacial and get even worse when navigating to a box currently involved in a transfer. Others have reported the same.
If it performs the same way when the S3 users get it I'd expect a howl nearly as loud as the crowd in Lane Stadium on Homecoming weekend - except it won't be cheering.
Are you sure you got 9.2j? I understood it was only being released to S3/THD units.bicker said:We've watched a couple of programs on our S2 (Pioneer 810H) since the upgrade and have only noticed improvements.
For max press and Christmas/Black Friday TiVo HD sales, they need to put out the press release prior to Thanksgiving. Of course they could always flip the switch to actually enable the software after, but I'd bank on seeing it before Turkey Day. If it were me, I'd schedule the announcement two weeks after the eSATA+hard drive partners one, which we should see next week or the week after.bicker said:We've been told, repeatedly, that it is coming in November. (And no, that doesn't necessarily mean November 1, and it could indeed mean November 30...)
So that means unless you're in a beta test, it isn't active yet?bicker said:Anyone who has MRV on an HD unit at this time would be prohibited from saying so publicly.
