Twice so far the remote to my Premiere has been unresponsive, except for the remote activity light when a button on the remote is pressed. The batteries are good in the remote but none of the button presses do anything else, not change the channel, volume or bring up a menu. When rebooting the Premiere by pulling the cord, it works fine again. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix, besides constant reboots.

I am having remote issue with my Bolt.

It will be working fine, and then suddenly the button presses do nothing. If I wait a minute or so then it suddenly starts working again.

I haven't had to reboot, thankfully. But it is very annoying.

Try sending the HDUI reset "Thumbs Down", "THumbs Up", "Play", "Play" The TiVo should 'ding' then several seconds later change to the gray arrow screen ending up at the Home menu entire process takes around a minute.

And what does this do, beside ending up a the home menu? Will it restore control of the remote?

It happened again tonight, except this time I could still pause, play, fast forward and rewind my shows but couldn't get into the Tivo Menu or other Tivo options. Can anyone explain why it keeps happening?

Is the remote in IR or RF mode? Some room LED light's and Gas lights can overload the IR signal. If the remote's LED flashes red then it is in IR mode you need to change it to RF mode.

Interesting, I have a little used Premiere with the slide remote that I had removed the blue tooth dongle from years ago it's has been working in IR mode without use of the keyboard of course. I think I had removed the dongle because the DVR would not boot or maybe it would not work reliably when it was installed.

Actually it is RF, I use the tiny peanut flip remote and it has an IR dongle connected to the Premiere.
Old Slide (multicolour TiVo guy button), or Slide Pro (blue translucent TiVo guy button)? The original Slides have an issue in their ribbon cables that connect the two halves, they can start degrading over time causing issues during normal use. Might want to get a cheap regular TiVo remote (the 15 dollar ones from cable companies off eBay should work fine) and see if the same issue happens.

It's the old slide multicolor Tivo guy button. But I never open the slide to use those buttons. I do have another Tivo remote but this one feels so good in my hand hate to have to give it up. But I don't think it's the remote because when I press a button on the remote the Tivo front panel light responds, it just doesn't carry out the command. And rebooting the Tivo fixes it....for a while.

Well this issue is still happening. Seems occur at least once every few weeks and the only thing that temporarily fixes it is by unplugging the box and plugging it back in to restart it. Obviously some component inside the box it failing and if anyone has any insight into what part is the issue, then I can replace it. So some help would be appreciated, I don't want to lose this box to the trash. Oh and I don't think it's the ribbon cable in the slide of this remote because I never use the slide function.
