Yeah, on the Premieres, there's a more complicated set of options for the "Advance" button. What you're seeing now was the default behavior on older TiVos. To get the default Premiere behavior back (30 second slip), you have to go into the Settings menu. I forget exactly where, sorry.
unprogram 30-second skip
I programmed the remote on my TiVo Elite to do the 30-second skip. How would I change it back to 30-second scan? When I redid the 30-second skip code, it would just go to the end or beginning of the program.

I have the opposite question. How do I change from 30 second scan to 30 second skip? I upgraded to a new Roamio and I hate the scan. Skip is so much faster .
