Does anyone know if theres a way to just buy the Tivo, and not have to worry about monthly or yearly fees, like as soon as you buy it, you can just record what you want and not have to worry about those?..or if there is such a thing (It doesnt have to be tivo, just any kind of recording thing, besides vcr) Thanks

one way, go on ebay and buy a lifetime unit

well do you want HD or just regular?

Check out tivo.com and figure out what unit you want then you can go on ebay and buy one with lifetime (tivo no longer sells lifetime) and make sure you get it transfered over to you.

-when you find the price of lifetime, it's almost better to just get the unit and pre-pay 3 years, do the math and how long you think you will have it

Sounds like you should look to see if you can find any DVR units on Ebay that have what was called TiVo BASIC.

This includes free of extra monthly service charges, the "basic" tivo functionality, but does not allow any of the advanced Tivo networking functions.

I think Pioneer, and Toshiba built these units.

Expired date has passed.

The only way to get lifetime on an S3 right now is to use a lifetime gift card.
