Just curious if anyone has tried this or knows how it would work...

- Say I've ordered an Unbox movie and saved it in my MediaLibrary on Amazon.com, but I've haven't downloaded to my Tivo yet ... So one evening I'm watching TV and I decide I'd like to watch that movie tonight, and someone else in my household is using the computer. If I go to the Unbox menu on my Tivo and download from there, will I get charged a 2nd time for the movie I already own?

And another hypothetical...

- Say I want to order a TV episode on Unbox, but I can't remember if I've already ordered that one. If I order it on my Tivo, and it turns out it's one I already purchased it before, will Tivo give me a warning screen (i.e, "you already purchased this movie"), or will it just download it and charge me a 2nd time?

I know unbox works with licenses. it gives you 2 licenses per purchase, but it lets you buy more if you want. So if you buy a movie you've previously purchased, then now you will have 4 licenses instead of 2. I did this by accident a while back. I used the same buy now link to send it to another tivo. Amazon CS was able to fix it and void the purchase for me. I was using the website though, not the tivo interface. I would imagine that the tivo interface would let you buy more licenses too. So purchasing another will probably add licenses. I'm just guessing though as I don't know for sure.

I did exactly that. I had purchased something and downloaded it to my PC so that I could put it on a portable player. A few days later I decided to just watch it on my TV and rather than going to the PC, I just used the Tivo to find and buy/download it again. The next time I was checking out my media library at amazon, I found that My license had doubled from 2 pcs and 2 portables to 4 and 4. This was for one of the new TV pilot episode that they sold for $0.00, so it didn't cost me anything.
If you don't want to pay for something twice, you need to use your computer.

You'll be charged again and get another license.

This is as good a thread as any to ask this question

So, I just ordered a movie from unbox (first time), is there any way to see if it has started downloading or do I just have to wait for it to show up in Now Playing? I thought I saw mention of a Download Manager somewhere but I can't find it

eta: nevermind, I just found it in the now playing list and it's still downloading

It will show up in Now Playing as soon as it starts downloading with a blue icon similar to the recording icon. You can't start playing it though until it's done downloading. It will also light up the blue led on your tivo (if you have one)
