Purpose:

Report new problems or issues with Unbox.

Report new plans for Unbox.

Occasionally bring up old problems still not attended to. Also report news on plans to resolve old issues.

Wide range of subjects accepted: Spoilers, system failures, features needed in HME app.

But, let's keep it as much as possible to problems that affect the broad population, as opposed to individual problems like 'my video didn't download this one time'...

My latest:

Downloaded free extra content for Bones ( (former) mom in SUV). This is really about the next episode, the horse fetish thing, and contains a spoiler related to who did it.

Good thing:

Unbox series episodes now seem to link to recordings, grouping together and allowing things like find upcoming episodes to offer future broadcast episodes.

Old issue that needs addressing:

Linking your library to the Unbox on TiVo purchase screen so a message to the effect of 'you already own this,' but you can buy it again if you want is displayed.

Edit:

Or 'you have n licenses available for this video, would you like to download it?'

Bonus Points:

'You have no licenses left for this video, would you like to delete it from another TiVo?'

Feature request:

Add thumbs up to record to TV episode downloads to make it easy to record future broadcasts.

Particularly useful for free premiere offerings that you might not have a clue where to find if you want to continue watching the series.

There have been other threads complaining about Unbox's refusal to provide closed captions -- even on TV content that is captioned when aired in the traditional manner. Really a terrible disservice for those of us who are deaf or hard of hearing.

My Unbox worked fine before the Tivo 2007 (version 9.1) service update. I spent all last weekend on the phone with Unbox and Tivo Support, and neither could resolve the problem. I have posted elsewhere about the details.

Is there others with S2 TCD200040 where unbox won't download at all anymore? Download queue at Amazon/unbox has five or so items in it, but they never start downloading.

Ok, this was my Unbox Prob..............


Ordered a movie for download on dvr 1.........never arrived after 3 days.

Call Amazon for redownload.............ended up on dvr2.

Call Amazon for redownload.............ended up on dvr3.

Call Amazon for redownload.............went to bed..........no show in morning.

Downloaded a free show no problem.

Call Amazon for redownload............The rep saw an error code this time stating failed do to dvr full...........ended up cleaning season passes up......
redownload took.

The funny thing was I did check several times in the recording history and it never mentioned the fail to record because of space.

(222hrs with not much recorded on it)

Not saying this is the solution, but it worked for me.

The general issue related to this problem is that TiVoCast content is not fully integrated with the DVR interface. Thus no TiVoCast (Unbox) content is reported in the ToDo area.

Longer term one would hope complete transparancy across content sources would evolve.

As an FYI, dylanemcgregor, was having terrible network problems with Unbox, but with the help of TiVo CSR's he was able to get everything working. Hopefully this will help some folks here.

Interesting side note after getting my Unbox problem fixed that I haven't seen other people mention:

1st item to download after the fix (Free South Park ep) creates a 2nd Unbox folder and is downloaded there. I wasn't too surprised about this, as one ofthe trouble shooting steps was unlinking and relinking my Tivo to my Amazon account.

2nd item to download (Vacancy) just got put in my regular NP list with the Amazon logo where the channel logos go. I kind of like this I think.

Had one Unbox video waiting to be watched and downloaded another to watch immediately. Didn't notice when the first went missing, but it wasn't there after watching the second movie.

Not positive but I think it may have been deleted to make room, as the Deleted Items folder was empty, even though there was plenty of regular TV content that could have been purged.

Is there anyway to give Unbox a higher priority? I just double checked the remaining movie and sure enough the Keep Until I Delete option is available, guess I need to use it!

my Unbox Prob..............
I have a subscription to this season of "Heroes" well 8 of the episodes arrived perfectly with no errors. This morning I attempted to watch what was listed on my TiVo as Heroes "Powerless" (the newest ep.) but it was in fact a completely different TV show entitled : Life <-- I've never even HEARD of before. Also, I don't know if this is related but our multi room viewing is broken. Although it lists the remote TV at the bottom (as always) when you try to open to transfer from on TiVo to another, the message says there are NO RECORDINGS! (There are hundreds of recordings on each of our 2 (Series2) TiVos.) Never had this problem before. Sometimes the other TiVo is not listed and must be unpluggged and restarted before it shows up, but never this NO Recordings message. (Oh yes, we are also having the Toast Tivo Desktop problem I've read about here)
