Unable to change email address

I tried to change the email address for my account. First, the User CP page for that craps out after a few minutes of sitting there spinning. I did get an email at the new address saying "one more step", but when I click the link in the email, I get a forum error message saying that my account is already activated and I should try logging in. Um, I AM logged in. Regardless, the email address for my account doesn't get changed.
