UI questions I cant find with search

With a 2TB drive, there are a lot of shows. I have not been able to figure out how to jump from the top of the list (most current show) to the bottom of the list (where the suggestions folder is) without hitting page down about 20 times. Is there a shortcut?

Second question... Its 5:45pm. The Tivo is recording a suggestion on tuner 1, from 5:30pm to 6:00pm. I am watching NBC nightly news on tuner 2 live. I have a scheduled recording for the local news on the same channel I am watching for 6:00pm. I have a second scheduled recording for Fox News at 6:00pm. At 5:58, the Tivo pops up a dialog asking if it is ok to tune to channel (4-1 NBC) at 6:00 for a scheduled recording. I say, YES. So, at 6:00, it dumps me off NBC which I am watching, to the tuner that Fox recording is starting on, and starts recording NBC on the OTHER tuner. This forces me to hit (LIVE) to switch tuners to watch the channel I was already watching. This seems very strange. If I am already on NBC, and its scheduled to record on NBC, why does it ask if its OK to change the channel and why does it dump live TV to the OTHER tuner? Logically, it should record NBC on the tuner I am watching and is already tuned to NBC, and record FOX on the other tuner the suggestion was recording on. And yes, I verified the suggestion recording finished at 6:00.

Yes. The Advance button (->|) will go to the top and bottom of any list.

I don't have any insights into this; I don't watch Live TV.

Regarding what I bolded above, pay attention the next time it happens. The Tivo may be asking if it is OK to change the channel on the OTHER tuner (the one you're NOT watching live). Since scheduled recordings are given a higher priority than suggestions, the Tivo will ask if it is OK to change the channel on the tuner that is recording the suggestion.
Now, as to why the Tivo switched tuners, it could be that you set the NBC news recording to a higher priority than the FOX news recording, and because the NBC news recording has the higher priority, the Tivo makes sure it is recorded by utilizing the tuner that you are not watching.
Thanks for the Answers... Will try the first, and pay attention to the second.
Orangeboy,

Thanks for the tip! I've been wondering if there was a shortcut to do this for a while. Though it still doesn't help much if you're trying to find a recording that's near the middle of your 20+ pages of My Shows....

Wouldn't it be fabulous to have a super quick, smoothly scrolling menu system like we have on say, um.... a smartphone!!!!!

...instead of the clunky, jerky 1980's style commodore 64 UI that we have with Tivo.

We can dream...
