I think the appropriate campaign for this show is to send live bombs to ABC programming execs. I cannot believe they did this. Friggin' assholеs.

An awesome episode, awesome series, and an absolutely unforgivable way to end the series.

Perhaps the writers can give us a written version of where the show would've gone online. When I saw three minutes left on my Tivo recording, I knew they were going to leave it open ended. At least it had some finality in showing who the main villains are, but leaving that whole 4th part of government stuff hanging out there just makes me want to beg for more. Plus, we still don't know what was so important about the painting.
Perhaps the problem was that there were only three of us watching?
Hey I was watching, so make that four!

Let's each send a peanut to the ABC bigwigs!
Make it five. What a great show, but man, I thought they were going to give it more finality than that. Makes you really wish they had aired this during the TV season when they might have gotten decent enough ratings to rate a renewal.

Was Marlowe really stupid enough to call that number from her own phone? And we're supposed to believe that Chambers' phone didn't have caller ID?

I knew Chambers was going to end up being in on it, but I was still pretty surprised when he shot the agent.
Six.
Horrible... They knew this had no shot for renewal and they did this anyway.
I went in to this thinking it was the last episode. About half way through I thought for sure it wasn't. I guess I was wrong! What a crummy end to a good show!!

So Borjes, Freed, and possibly Fog all bit the dust this episode. Chambers was revealed to be in on it. The fate of Kim is unknown and now we know that there is somebody bigger than Freed in on it.

We don't know what happened to The Porter (black guy) and it has never been confirmed that Maya is dead. We don't know the tie in to the painting (I'm assuming that it wasn't in the limo). Had we seen the guy Chambers told to kill Marlow before?

Maybe they will run this again next summer or something a la The 4400.

Well, to be fair, they had shot all that we saw before they heard about the show's fate. They re-edited it as best they could to provide some finality, but I guess there was only so much they could do. Blame ABC for this, not the producers.
I can't think too much about this "ending" since I just get overwhelmed with the unanswered questions. The story just went in an ultimately unsatisfying circle, and I'm sorry I wasted my time with it.
It was entertaining while it lasted so I don't look at it as a waste of time...Life goes on.
I may be confusing this with another show, but I thought I read somewhere that the producers would post somewhere in a blog what their intentions for the story direction were going to be. Anyone know anything about this?

Yep... here's the link to the blog where it should eventually be posted once the cancellation is official.

Wow, what a powerful series. I was totally caught off-guard by the sudden ending.

Don't not watch it. Just be prepared for only pseudo half-hearted closure at best. Up until the credits rolling, it's great. That the credits roll without real closure and pretty much no chance of a season 2 to continue the story as they left it, it just sucks.
Blame the producers. They were given fair warning that the show's order was being cut to eight episode before the finale was shot, and this episode is how they decided to use that warning.

They did say this a couple weeks ago on the TV Guide podcast - that one of the producers stated he'd hoped to do this. They didn't give details on where the blog was; I don't recall the name of the producer.

Not entirely fair. They were warned that the SEASON was being cut from 13 to 8, after the first 7 episodes had already been shot and the eighth was about to roll. They were able to rewrite and reshoot the existing eight to make for a complete season. There's probably no way they could have adequately wrapped up the entire series with what they had, and more to the point, had they done so they would have killed ANY chance the show had of being picked up again.
